Photograph Notes: Built in 1962 at British Rails Swindon works, 9537 is a preserved Class 14 diesel locomotive wearing a face represent one of the engines in Rev Awdrys Railway Series of books as part in the Day out with Thomas event. It is seen here standing at Ramsbottom Stations platform 1 where it spent the day re-enacting a scene from one of the Railway Series stories, The Troublesome Trucks. I am not sure which character it is meant to represent but it is nicknamed Eric at the East Lancashire Railway and referred to as such over the PA.
