A classical and beautifully designed antique wooden mantel clock. Presented as a retirement gift in 1912, this clock could have been made much earlier. The recipients name and company are displayed on a metal plate and fixed to the front with brass nails. Information on this gentleman and employer will detail interesting facts of manufacturing guillotine's. This timepiece has a receipt dating back to 1979 showing professional fine tuning and after several days of observing this clock, all functions work perfectly. The chime is distinct with a "Big Ben" resemblance every hour and half hour correct to corresponding times. The porcelain face has a chip under the number 6 which can be viewed in the photograph.
