~ FIRST: THE RARE PARTS G2 TIE ROD KIT
Statement From Rare Parts: Quality of a steering and suspension part is critical to the safety of you and the people you share the road with. With a majority of today's products coming from overseas the attention to quality has diminished. That's why Rare Parts prides itself in only manufacturing high quality Chassis parts, hence the Diamond Series. To qualify, a Diamond Series part must exceed OEM and other after market products. Examples would be, the part is now greaseable, forgings are made larger for increased strength, improved internal designs, better wear characteristics, tighter machining tolerances, proper heat treatment of ball studs and mating components, and many more. One thing every Diamond Series part has in common is, it has been tested and inspected in our facility before it leaves our warehouse. So rest assured, you are getting a quality part when quality counts. Danny Burgess President Rare Parts, Inc.
Lift kits, Oversized wheels and tires, Off Roading, Drag Racing, Sled Pulling in 4 wheel drive and just everyday driving can apply extreme demands on the stock GM steering components. The factory tie rod assemblies on the Chevy / GMC - 1500HD/2500HD/3500 and the Hummer H2 are not sufficient for the job they were asked to do. These components were way under designed from the factory and are a real danger when extra loads are put on them.
From the start these undersized components are the weak link in the front end of your truck and need to be addressed for a good reliable solid steering system. Since the factory tie rod ends are not what they should be, they start wearing prematurely which will result in sloppy steering at first, then eventually the worst case, complete failure and breakage. Even the tie rod shaft themselves are very thin and weak, we have seen them bend from just mild off roading.
Unfortunately the original units were just way under designed from the get go. So even good quality aftermarket replacement steering parts are better, but the original OEM units are just too small to take the extra demand put on them. It is the small size of the joint and the main shaft that is the culprit not just the quality of the part.....
THEY ARE A MUST FOR LIFTED TRUCKS WITH BIGGER TIRES. Don't get left on the side of the road, buy some cheap insurance and peace of mind. Directly replaces original factory units and attaches to the stock center link.
Rare Parts, Inc. has just released their newly redesigned heavy-duty tie rod assemblies for 2001-2010 CHEVY / GMC Trucks and SUV’s including the HUMMER H2. The NEW G2 outer tie rod end has been redesigned to eliminate the weak (buckling) point that the original design is known for. An oversized 1 1/2" diameter solid forging has replaced the original undersized 1/2" rod where the buckling occurs. The outer end also has a larger diameter full ball stud and socket allowing for a larger greaseable wear surface, and increasing reliability. This larger socket and ball also offers more stud swing for greater articulation. The Inner Tie Rod end incorporates the same oversize design with a ¾” threaded rod replacing the original ½” rod. The inner ball and socket has also been increased from 25mm to 32mm. Pre-greased with (AMSOIL) synthetic lubricant. Made in the USA.
These are an excellent choice for any stock or modified application with a lift and or large tire and wheel combinations. Order your set today!

~ SECOND: THE PITMAN IDLER ARM SUPPORT KIT
Description:
**HARDWARE FITS FACTORY OR AFTERMARKET PITMAN & IDLER ARMS**
Whether your truck is stock height or lifted and running oversized tires, Pitman and Idler arms have always been a problem on the steering systems of GM vehicles. The Pitman and Idler arm Support kit by Cognito Motorsports fixes a wear problem that is present on the factory and aftermarket steering system. Aftermarket companies have come out with heavier duty pitman and idler arms that fail the same way that the factory parts do. The design created by Cognito Motorsports solves the problem in an innovative way that no one else has been able to create before. This design works so well that we were able to obtain a UTILITY PATENT.
The Problem: If you are not familiar with how the GM steering system works, here is a quick lesson. The pitman arm is connected to the output shaft of the steering gear box. When you turn the steering wheel of your vehicle, the motion is directed to the steering gear box which then rotates the pitman arm. The pitman arm has a stud protruding from the end of it where the center link connects, also called the drag link. To help control steering motion, the center link is connected to an idler arm on the passenger side of the vehicle. The idler arm is bolted to the frame and swings in the same arc as the pitman arm, and is fastened to the center link the same way the pitman arm is. The two mounting points for the center link give it support in the motion left and right relative to the vehicle, but there is not enough support in the direction of forward to backward relative to the vehicle. This lack of support is what causes the joints inside of the pitman and idler arms to wear out, which provide the pivot and connection point for the center link. The larger the tire on the vehicle, the faster these joints wear out. Aftermarket companies have come out with beefed up pitman and idler arms, but still have the same premature wear issue in the same joint.
What Happens: The front alignment toe settings can not be held because of the slop in the pitman and idler arms allowing the center link to move forward and backward. No control over the toe setting means that your front tires will experience irregular and premature wear. When the center link swings toward the back of the truck, it is also swinging up in an arc. The center link swinging up increases the tie rod angle and can cause tie rod breakage. Most tie rod problems actual originate from pitman and idler arm problems.
The Cognito Motorsports Solution: The Mechanical Engineer at Cognito Motorsports has come up with a non traditional design to fix this problem, and it works GREAT! The support kit can be installed on pitman and idler arms showing wear, and actually revive them by limiting the movement in the worn direction! If the joint in the pitman and idler arm is not worn excessively, they probably will not have to be changed (this should be determined by a qualified mechanic). If the pitman and idler arm are excessively worn, it is recommended to replace the pitman and idler arms with factory units and add the Cognito Motorsports Pitman and Idler Arm Support Kit.
This innovative design is so unique that it obtained a UTILITY PATENT. The support system works by double capturing the studs that protrude from the pitman and idler arms which the center link connects to. At the same time it still allows the studs to pivot on their own axis which is needed when the steering system is turning. This Cognito Motorsports system provides the support needed to prevent the center link from rocking forward and backward in the vehicle.

~ THIRD: HD +1" HD SWAY BAR LINKS - GM-HD-SBELK-1
HEAVY DUTY 1" LONGER SWAY BAR END LINKS
PAIR - LEFT & RIGHT
We have found a serious clearance issue with the sway bar when using stock length sway bar end links with these tie rod ends. This clearance issue occurs on many trucks running stock suspension that have been highly leveled out, (raised up in the front), especially if you are running an aftermarket upper control arm leveling kit and or lifting / leveling torsion keys. This by itself will cause a very close tie rod to sway bar clearance issue and on many trucks the two will contact each other. Check your truck for this clearance issue!
When you upgrade to Heavy Duty tie rod assemblies, there for sure becomes a clearance issue with the sway bar. The inner tie rod joints on these heavy duty tie rods are much bigger than the factory units and will hit the sway bar. When the truck is raised / leveled the angle of the lower control arm increases, this also pulls the sway bar down as they are attached to each other by the sway bar end link. This combination of bigger inner tie rod joints and increased lower control arm angle will cause the tie rods to hit the sway bar. We have designed a solution to this problem, our SSM 1" longer Heavy Duty Sway Bar End Link Kit!!
On top of the clearance issue the original sway bar end links are notorious for breaking. So get a REAL Heavy Duty Sway Bar End Link for your HD and stop breaking those stock wimpy end links. These sway bar end links are a Heavy Duty replacement to the factory style end links, and are 1" longer to clear the sway bar.
NEW AND IMPROVED!!! - We have just released our NEW IMPROVED Heavy Duty 1" Longer Sway Bar End Link Kit. This kit now features a 3/4" powder coated steel hex bar center section. Larger, correct size, Energy Suspension HYPER-FLEX ™ Performance Polyurethane sway bar end link bushings. These larger bushings are the correct size for the HD sway bar, they are not a universal one size fits all bushing. Bushings are made from a firm polyurethane and provide more overall mass and surface area than a smaller universal bushing. Then we top them off with Grade 8 zinc plated hardware. This unit is far superior than the factory part and will work on a leveled or bone stock truck. End Link Set does both sides. MADE IN THE USA!!!
This kit will work on bone stock trucks, stock trucks with leveling kits, or trucks with lift kits that require use of the original length GM sway bar end links. For lifted trucks with super long aftermarket end links, we have a different style unit available for those trucks as well.
