ON DEMAND WE ISSUE A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY (money-back-guarantee)

Inserted into the lid of a round box, it is only the second miniature known today, signed "Le Boeuf" - the other was sold at auction house "Tajan", Paris, on 10 April 2013 (as lot 115): It was a portrait of a lady from the early 1780s.

We suppose both works are the earliest creations of then very young (he was born in 1770) French artist Jules César Hilaire Leboeuf marquis de Valdahon. He was born in 1770 in Dole, and died in 1847 in Moneteau (see for example our web #40360)
