Asia, printed more than 450 years ago.
- This map is titled Tabula Asiæ
III, and the image
area measures 18.5 x 24.5 cm [7¼" x 9¾"].

The coverage area extends from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea and
includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, southern Russia, and a portion
of neighboring Persia.
- The map is based on the work of Claudius Ptolemy and
was published by Girolamo Ruscelli, Venice, in his 1561 edition of
Ptolemy's Geografia.
- Condition:
It is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no
marks, rips, or tears. There is a centerfold, as
issued, and there is Italian text on the verso, or reverse side of the
map.
