Kenneth E. Newton passed away on August 7, 2017, after a brief illness. Born January 25, 1927, in Roanoke, Virginia, he taught for twenty-seven years as an art teacher, and as an exhibiting artist after his retirement in 1977.

He devoted thirty-five years to the creation, exhibition, and sale of his work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Kenneth's lively watercolors brought to life old farmhouses, vintage gas stations, gnarled trees, and milkweed blossoms. His drawings, watercolors, and prints appeared in hundreds of shows, and thousands of people took them home to enjoy.
