The stamped parts of this striking piece exhibit typical Navajo (Dine) style
stamping, with an interesting mosaic inlay pendant in Pueblo (probably
Zuni) style, using the typical
materials (mother of pearl, jet, coral and turquoise) and geometric
motifs. Interesting how the components may have become 'married.' The
mosaic portion may have been picked up in trade and inserted into a
bezel with Navajo stamping. Or it's a Southwestern 'artisan'
piece, combining components from several older pieces of jewelry. The
top piece looks like quite old-style Navajo stamping. Measures 4 1/4" long by 1 3/4" wide.
