Tin disulfide,
SnS2 is also known as Tin (IV) Sulfide, stannic sulfide and Mosaic Gold.
Mosaic gold pigment (SnS2) was used since medieval times for bronzing and gilding wood (such as religious icons) and metal work. It furnishes bronze or gold effect and color. The material in this listing is in the form of crystalline powder (particle size of ~10µm) which appears lustrous when rubbed on flat surfaces or illuminated with strong light. The low density of 4.5g/cc facilitates its blending in liquid media carriers. The appearance of the pigment depends on the lighting conditions, the surface it was applied on, as well as other factors.
