The covers are slightly rubbed and soiled. 256 pages, illustrated with a color frontispiece portrait by Rudolph Ruzicka and 4 black & white plates by W.A. Dwiggins. Good.

First American edition. From the library of the World War One naval aviator Charles Frederic Beach, signed by him on the front endpaper.

Laid in at the front is a typed form letter signed by the founder of the Yale University Press, George Parmly Day, presenting the book to a classmate of Ensign Curtis Seaman Read, in his memory.
