This is an astounding find from a recent Texas Estate:1874 Signed and Dated Pacific Northwest Hermann Herzog OIL PAINTING PASTORAL LANDSCAPEFrom a recent Texas estate, you’re bidding on an 1874 Pacific Northwest Hermann Herzog OIL PAINTING PASTORAL LANDSCAPE. During this time period, Mr Herzog traveled extensively in Northern California and the Sierra Nevadas. His great grandson told me this travel produced his best work. This painting is almost 150 years old. The canvas was purchased and is stamped from a frame and mirror store in San Francisco. There are cracks in the oil paint. I have not restored or reconditioned this fine painting or gold frame in any way. Many of his works were framed in this identical styled frame. There is edge damage to the frame.
