1960's Hungarian Artist Miklos Komlos (b. 1906) Signed, on lower left, this Nighttime Village Landscape. It is an Original thinned (Oil or Acrylic) - just not sure, on treated paper (possibly a thin gesso layer to stiffen the paper). A village sits quietly at night, thatched rooftops illuminated only by the Moon, it would appear. Beautifully worked as there is no sense of foreboding, only a quiet peaceful evening. Heavy paint application and beefy brushstrokes give this scene real depth and substance. It is a relatively dark piece, but it takes light very well. There is some residual tape and an Acid Free tape repair on the reverse (see images). The signature on lower left is in black and is difficult to photograph and see but we guarantee it is signed.

Any curvature in the images is due to the treatment of the paper, though it would definitely flatten behind glass and of course, can be mounted to another board. 

Paper measures 13 X 18 and is in Good Vintage condition, w/ minor damage to left and right edges.
