1. Never use force; everything must fit
freely.
2. Blow off any dirt or chips from cover.
3. Install metal sealing rings in cover, oil pump cover
and driven torus. Check for free fit for these parts. Check free fit of
the two valve and spring assemblies.
4. With fine emery cloth remove all roughness and burrs in
vicinity of torus bowl snap ring groove.
5. Use only late style torus bowl with four âTâ shaped
driving embossments. The early pin type is not acceptable.
6. Install washers and driven torus into torus
bowl.
7. Carefully drop coupling cover squarely into bowl
without the two lathe cut seals or
valves. It must drop freely of its own weight. Correct
any interferences.
8. Install two square late cut seals into cover grooves
without twists. Install valves and springs using retainer clip tools.
Apply a film of light grease to the entire outside diameter of the cover.
9. Very carefully install the cover into the bowl without
cocking. Everything must go together smoothly with light hand pressure.
If any rubber particles become visible you must disassemble and repeat all the
above steps using new lathe cut seals.
10. Install snap ring, remove retainer tools and check for
