( Demolished in 1982 along with the Morosco and Bijoux Theaters to make way for the Marquis Mariot Hotel, which houses the charmless Marquis Theater. I demonstrated along with many others to no avail; however, it did spawn the City to give landmark status for virtually all older Broadway Theater. It would hopefully not happen today.)
for " HADRIAN VII" took place on January 8th 1969. It ran until November 15th 1969. It received numerous nominations for both Tony and Drama Desk Awards. A Tony Award  for BEST DIRECTION was won by Peter Dews. The star ALEC McCOWEN won BEST ACTOR from Drama Desk Awards.
Prior to its Broadway run, it played London's Mermaid Theater.
