About the Gurkhas' GK&Co Chhuri #

The 11”chhuri is one of Gk&CO.KUKRI HOUSES new products. The value of the Chhuri is in the quality made to perform, work hard and last a lifetime. The 6” handle is a flat full tang unlike any of our other handles (Not rat tail). The handle and blade flow together as a single unit brought together with remarkable artistry displayed about the handle. Two Bone and Wood pieces joined powerfully to the metal component of the handle with three metal (copper) rivets. And the sleek black color of the blade ensures that it will remain rust free. The 11” blade is made of Highly Graded carbon with balance water pouring temper on the edge of the blade making for a significantly strong cutting edge. Built to withstand a lot of work and the burden of overuse this blade shines and is the choice for exploration in the rugged jungle. As with all Kukri this knife is no exception and is great for chopping wood, cutting through bone and clearing brush in the bushes.

How to maintain your Kukri:
  • 1. Apply machine oil, gun oil, or animal fat on the blade after every use.

    2. Its recommended that you don't leave any fingerprints on the blade. If its necessary to touch the blade, you should clean it by using petrol/gasoline or oil and wipe with soft cloths.

    3. Your Kukri blade is made of Carbon Steel and can rust easily. In case of rusting rub it with a fine sandpaper, clean the dirt using some oil or gasoline and wipe it with a clean soft cloth then apply oil. Check the blade frequently and apply oil regularly.

    4. Use shoe polish for the leather sheaths. Use brass polish or silver polish (the type used for brass fittings or sliver sheaths).

    5. Most of the Kukris come with two utility knives; the blunt knife (chakmak) is used for sharpening the blade The other one - sharp edge (karda) is used for small tasks such as a pen knife.
