2 Dept 56 Mache Christmas Elf and Cat figures (aka Shelf sitters) ornaments. They are hollow and a blend of cast materials, some refer to as Plaster Mache.  Very unique for Department 56, label on the bottom also notes they were hand painted therefore paint colors will be uneven and stray specks of paint and as made.

Red Green holiday colors, however can be displayed year round as a whimsical duo. These two decorations were made to sit or hang, however no string hangers on top. Previous owner preferred them as sitters & removed.  Fun duo, note the fish in the back pocket of the cat. 

Overall they have held up very well, with no damage, just mild use, such as light rub mark to the paint. 

They measure approximately:  4 inches tall  dollar bill used only for size reference
