Friction Reducer works with all commercially available lubricants and
contains no solids such as PTFE, Ceramics, Lead, etc.. It will not
affect design tolerances.
ACTIV8
Friction Reducer bonds into metal to metal working surfaces under
load at low temperatures, creating an extremely low friction surface
which is able to withstand excessive temperatures and pressures.

Much To Use:
Please
find below tables listing some of the most widely accepted
applications in which ACTIV8 Friction Reducer is used. ACTIV8
Lubricants Ltd. has made certain assumptions about your vehicle’s
oil capacity. Although the oil capacities of vehicle engines differ
greatly (ranging from 3.5 to nearly 10 litres for cars/vans and from
less than 1 to 6 litres for motorcycles), the amounts suggested in
the table below cover the vast majority of engine sizes and their
differing oil capacities. ACTIV8 Friction Reducer is not used to
improve the performance of the oil. The base oil is used to
distribute the ACTIV8 Friction Reducer to the loaded metal to metal
working surfaces, allowing the ACTIV8 Friction Reducer to treat the
metal surfaces whilst allowing the oil to work to specification.

application to oil reservoir or pre-mix.

STROKE ENGINES:
For
the initial treatment, add to engine oil at a ratio of between 2.5%
and 5% of sump capacity (i.e. between 25ml and 50ml per litre of
oil). In automotive applications this treatment will last for no
longer than 25,000 miles / 40,000 km or 5 oil changes (whichever is
the sooner). Manufacturers’ recommended frequency of oil changes
must be observed but there is no need to add any more ACTIV8
Friction Reducer until 25,000 miles / 40,000 km or 5 oil changes
after the fi rst treatment. Then another treatment with half the
original quantity will maintain the required ratio for a further
25,000 miles / 40,000 km or 5 oil changes. The survival of the
effects of ACTIV8 Friction Reducer can differ under different
operating conditions. For example, the higher the load and/ or
temperature, the quicker the residual effect of ACTIV8 Friction
Reducer will be reduced.
FOR
EXAMPLE:
Racing:
the
reapplication of ACTIV8 Friction Reducer is recommended once every
second oil change (half of the original quantity), although many use
it in every oil change.
Towing
/ Maximum load vehicles: For
all vehicles operating under constant maximum load conditions such
as light commercials or towing, it is known that ACTIV8 Friction
Reducer usually requires more frequent reapplications.
GEARBOXES,
DIFFERENTIALS & TRANSFER BOXES:
Add
to gearbox oil at a ratio of between 5% and 10% of sump capacity
(i.e. between 50ml to 100ml per litre). In automotive applications,
this treatment will last for no longer than 50,000 miles / 80,000 km
or every other oil change after the first treatment. Then another
treatment on the second oil change, with half the original quantity,
will maintain the required ratio for a further 50,000 miles / 80,000
km or 2 oil changes. For vehicles with combined engine and gearbox
oil and also vehicles with engine capacity over 1,800cc (Petrol) or
1,400cc (Diesel), the full 5% ratio of ACTIV8 Friction Reducer to
sump capacity is recommended.
2-STROKE
ENGINES:
For
the initial treatment add 7.5% ACTIV8 Friction Reducer to the
2-stroke oil (75ml per litre of oil). Each further litre of 2-stroke
oil can then be treated with 5% (50ml ACTIV8 Friction Reducer) to
maintain the effect. For pre-mix units, add ACTIV8 Friction Reducer
to a bottle of 2-stroke oil fi rst, (shake to mix well), before
adding the 2-stroke oil to the fuel at the manufacturer’s
recommended ratio. If ACTIV8 Friction Reducer is added to the fuel
oil mix after
the
oil has been mixed at the correct ratio, the mixture will become too
rich and may cause loss of performance.
For
injection feed units (separate 2-stroke oil tank), add ACTIV8
Friction Reducer to a bottle of 2-stroke oil first, (shake to mix
well), before adding the 2 stroke oil into the oil tank. If ACTIV8
Friction Reducer is added directly to the oil tank, the ACTIV8
Friction Reducer will not disperse sufficiently within the 2 stroke
oil before use.
MOTORCYCLES
USING WET CLUTCHES:
ACTIV8
Friction Reducer is very suitable and warranted for use in wet
clutch systems. ACTIV8 Friction Reducer needs metal to metal
surfaces working together under a load to become ‘ACTIV8ed’.
ACTIV8 Friction Reducer does not contain any solids or thickeners to
provide a coating like other additives and therefore will not
interfere with the clutch plate material. Since 99.9% of wet clutch
units use either mineral, fibre, cork, Kevlar or soft sintered
composite clutch plate material, ACTIV8 Friction Reducer cannot
become ‘locked-in’ and cannot cause slippage. ACTIV8 Friction
Reducer is fully guaranteed not to negatively affect wet clutches
using mineral, fibre, cork, Kevlar or soft sintered composite clutch
plate material. ACTIV8 Friction Reducer is also suitable for use in
systems using slipper clutches.
WARNING
Do
not use in systems which rely on metal to metal friction to operate,
including some pre 1958 automatic gearboxes, elevator gearbox
backstops and CVT automatic gearboxes. Also do not use on frictional
loaded firing mechanisms in firearms. For
