Autographed Stephen King Book
Stephen King is the most popular and bestselling novelist of modern times, but there are surprisingly few signed copies of his books available for fans and collectors, and virtually none in this condition.
I waited in line at a bookstore signing 30 years ago as a high school student, and have had this hardcover copy with original dust jacket wrapped in plastic and unopened ever since. It has never been read, never changed hands, and is totally mint condition. Just opened for first time to take these pictures. Also, because I was first in line, it was personalized and dated, whereas King usually just signs his name, making it even rarer.
This is a second edition and as such represents a discount over more collectible first editions. However, there are virtually no copies of King books of any editions available signed in this condition, and Firestarter is one of the rarest titles, despite being very well known and the basis for a Drew Barrymore/David Keith movie made from the book. I could not find a single other similar copy for sale.
Take a look at the Stephen King page at Bauman Rare Books, the leading retailer of signed books. Just type in Stephen King in the search box in the upper right corner on the Bauman Rare Books website.
A first edition of the Stand in used condition that is NOT signed sells for $950. A signed copy of the Stand, also used, is $4800. A first edition of the Shining, NOT signed is $1650. The signed version, used, is $7500. A used signed copy of Salem’s Lot is $5800. Used signed copies begin at $1350 for the least popular books (The Dark Half).
This is a rare opportunity for a fan, collector or gift for a Stephen King lover. Authentic, signed, dated, like brand new, second edition from original year of release, 1980.
