As easy to install as they are to use
The last thing you want is a complicated installation for your water filter. Our water filters are built for Samsung refrigerators, so they’re easy to install.
Note: Whether you have the filter pictured, or the canister style filter located on the back wall of the refrigerator, the method to replace is exactly the same.
You can buy a new Samsung filter on our accessories page. Select a filter, and then select SEE ALL SPECS to see compatible fridge models. SEE ALL SPECS is located right above the Review section. Do not use third-party water filters, which may leak and damage the refrigerator.
• To replace the water filter, turn off the water supply, and then turn the filter counterclockwise while pulling it out (or down).
• Reinstall a new filter by pushing it into place and then turning it clockwise. Make sure the lock icon lines up with the filter housing.
• Turn the water supply back on again, and dispense some water.
• Don't forget to reset the filter light so you can stay on top of your filter replacement schedule.
How will you know when it's time to replace the water filter?
The filter icon will let you know. When the filter is new, the filter light may be blue, yellow, or green, depending on the model. As a reminder, the icon will turn purple when it's almost time to change the filter. After 6 months, the icon will turn red when you need to replace it. Once it's red, change it right away so you can have high-quality water.
