This is a New Upgraded White Rodgers Universal Furnace Gas Valve. This fast opening valve is rated at 280,000 BTU, and has a 3/4" X 3/4" Inlet and Outlet. The valve is set up for Natural gas, but includes an LP kit and reducer bushings in case needed. It is a designed to replace the part numbers listed below.

Function:
 

The gas valve is a low voltage control (usually 24 VAC) that allow gas into the combustion chamber. It is also an adjustable regulator that insures proper gas pressure for combustion. They have a manual shut off.
