Two fold-out maps of the Arcadia-Cross Creek Oil Pool, published in 1948 by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists:

• Southwest-Northeast Cross Section; Sec. 18, T.14N., R.1W. to Sec. 2, T.15N., R.1E.; size 9¼" x 30½"



• Northwest-Southeast Cross Section; Sec. 29, T.15N., R.1W. to Sec. 25, T.14N., R.1W.; size 8½" x 29"

• The maps were published in an article on the Arcadia-Coon Creek oil pool in north-central Oklahoma, 18 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. Oil had been discovered at the site in June, 1944 at a depth of approximately 6,000 feet.



• The maps were compiled by George E. Carver, Jr. and issued in Structure of Typical American Oil Fields: A Symposium of the Relation of Oil Accumulation to Structure, an official AAPG 1948 publication.



• Later geological work by Carver led to the discovery of the Paint Creek gas field in West Virginia and the Trempealeau oil field in Morrow County, Ohio. The Trempealeau was one of the major oil fields found in the lower 48 states during this century.



• Condition:  Both maps are in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. They fold to approximately 8½" x 5". Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
