“Born more than 120 years ago, the famous Papier d'Italie notebook contains detachable strips of scented brown paper. Its artisanal manufacturing is strictly based on the original methods and still takes place in the Montrouge workshop. »
Tradition
“The unique smell of the little brown paper owes all its merit to Benzoin resin. Auguste Ponsot discovered the disinfectant virtues of this resin during a trip to Armenia. He decides to import the benefits to France. Renowned since Antiquity for its antiseptic, healing and expectorant properties, benzoin balm was once used externally to treat asthma, coughs and hoarseness. »
The rose
“The legendary Papier d’Armée notebook is adorned with pink to welcome the new scent of the moment. Maintaining the oriental notes that we know, the new notebook seduces with its rose scent and offers exclusive scents when the strips are consumed. »
The Year of Armenia
“The graphic design of the cover of the exclusive year of Armenia notebook pays homage to the richness of Armenian calligraphy. It is inspired by patterns from traditional decorative art and the colors of the Armenian flag.
It is enriched with an “illuminated initial” called “Tertchna-Kir”, a contraction of the words “bird” and “letter”.
Frankincense, myrrh, woody notes and vanilla escape from the paper as it burns.
Francis Kurkdjian, famous creator – perfumer, is the author of this aroma. His mission? Revisiting the mythical smell to get closer to Armenian scents, giving it a mystical and orientalist side.
Result: an authentic edition designed for a real olfactory journey. »
Tips for use:
Tear off a strip, fold it into an accordion shape, place it in the Papier d'Armenia burner, light it by blowing lightly to avoid igniting it as it must burn slowly.
