shiny white color and are made of natural Australian oyster shell that is cut
and finished in Italy.
The specifications are as follows:
Size 18L, 3.50mm thick
Size 16L, 3.20mm thick
Size 14L, 2.8mm thick
Only a certain number of shells are thick enough to provide
Mother of Pearl buttons such as these. Thin MOP buttons are common and fairly
inexpensive but cannot compare to these buttons, which are among the thickest in
the world!

These buttons are
considered by many to be theultimate Mother of Pearl button
for size 18L due to the thickness, shape and shine! Note the curved,
saucer-like bottom and the design of the wider rim on the top.
A
standard shirt usually requires 6 of the size 18L buttons for the front placket
plus another two size 18L's based on single button cuffs. The collar button is
typically a 16L, as are the forearm sleeve buttons, for a total of 3 size 16L
required. Shirts with button-down collars would need two of the size 14L
buttons, which can be ordered separately. Please message us if additional
buttons are needed - changes can be accommodated!
