Product Overview
If you are still using the standard yellow composite cable that came with your PS2 or PS3, you are missing out. This component video cable delivers a dramatically sharper, cleaner picture by carrying the video signal across three separate channels (Y, Pb, Pr) instead of cramming it all through one. The difference is immediately obvious — sharper edges, richer colours, and no more colour bleeding.
On the PlayStation 2, component video unlocks progressive scan (480p) in supported games, and a handful of titles even support 1080i. On the PlayStation 3, the cable supports resolutions all the way up to 1080p full HD. Two separate RCA plugs carry stereo audio (left and right) independently from the video signal.
The PlayStation AV Multi Out connector plugs into the back of the console and the five colour-coded RCA plugs connect to your TV's component video (YPbPr) and stereo audio inputs. The cable features thick PVC insulation and strain-relief moulding at both ends for reliable, long-lasting use.
PS2 Setup Tip: To use component video on a PS2, go to System Configuration (boot without a disc) and change "Component Video Out" to "Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr". This only needs to be done once.
Compatibility: This cable is compatible with all PlayStation 2, PlayStation 2 Slim, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 3 Slim consoles sold worldwide. It is not compatible with the PlayStation 1 or PSOne.
