This is a superb original watercolor paper painting by well-listed 19th artist THOMAS TUDOR (1785-1855), circa 1811.

This rare original painting is signed in pencil by the artist on the verso, "Thomas Tudor" and depicts a fantastic forest landscape in monochrome black and gray watercolor. It measures 12 ¼" x 12 ¼" and is in good condition; there is a line down the right side where two sheets have been joined together by the artist. It is mounted and matted for a total size of 16" x 20" (there is soiling and foxing to the mat) PROVENANCE: Orr's Gallery, San Diego; their original label on the mat verso. Authenticity is GUARANTEED. Thomas Tudor has extensive auction records, with an 11 ¾" x 15 ¾" monochrome watercolor selling for $1,187. in 1994.
