WOLVERHAMPTON AND DUDLEY BREWERIES LTD
WINE GLASS WITH ETCHED BADGE

There can be no doubt that this glass was made for use in a public house. It is of a robust design with pretensions to style. The bowl is optic moulded, which is achieved by blowing the gather of glass in a ribbed mould before blowing it to full size, which leaves a ribbed impression on the bowl. In the case of this glass the moulding is quite obvious.

I have listed the glass as a wine glass but suspect it was more likely to have been used for drinks such as port and lemon, which was popular mid century. Perfectly usable today but more likely to be of interest to collectors of breweriana.

Happy to answer any questions or provide more photos. The glass can be collected from Langford in North Somerset.
