A woman turns away in fear as a pale ghost rises behind her, ghost-fire flickers at her feet and the fur of a giant monster cat fills the darkness. The scene is from Utagawa Kuniyoshi's ghost-story diptych of the cat demon of Okazaki (around 1850). The bakeneko, or monster cat, of Okazaki was a favourite Edo-period kabuki horror about a cat spirit haunting a temple on the Tōkaidō road. This poster shows the right-hand sheet, signed by Kuniyoshi.

It's printed from a museum scan of an original impression (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Open Access, public domain). The woodblock grain, paper texture and faded colours are left as they are, with no repainting and no AI. Posterly adds an aged-paper border, the Japanese title 岡崎の化け猫 (The Okazaki Cat Monster) and a small English caption.
