Description
The G6196TSP-2G Country Club is a limited-production model featuring a 17-inch wide, single-cutaway hollow-body construction and a two-tone color scheme of smoky gray and metallic violet. It boasts luxurious specifications including gold Grover Imperial tuners, a Melita adjustable bridge, and a Bigsby B6 tremolo. Manufactured in Japan by Terada Musical Instruments.
The body is laminated maple, the neck is maple, the fingerboard is rosewood, and the pickups have been upgraded from DynaSonic to TV Jones T-Armond, a refined, high-end pickup that thoroughly researched and recreated the tone of vintage 1950s DynaSonic pickups. Controls are pickup selector, master volume, individual volume, master tone.
There are some thin spots on the metal parts, slight scratches on the headstock veneer, and other minor polishing marks and scratches that are barely noticeable unless you look closely. Overall, however, there are few scratches, and it is in remarkably clean condition, showing no signs of its 10 years of age.
The neck is straight and in good condition, and the truss rod functions properly. The frets retain their original height. The nut width is approximately 42.5mm, and the scale length is 648mm (25.5 inches). The C-shape neck has a comfortable grip that is neither too thick nor too thin, and it doesn't get too thick even at the higher frets, resulting in good playability.
As expected from a 17-inch neck, it has rich harmonics, an airy feel, and a clear, well-defined tone with a well-defined, sweet, and glossy high range, a thick midrange, and a moderately tight low range, all in good balance. This guitar is perfect for clean jazz, blues, and swing, or with a slight distortion for rockabilly, rock and roll, and country.
