A wonderfully preserved pair of genuine antique wire-rimmed spectacles dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Design & Style:
This pair features an iconic, true round "John Lennon" style silhouette with a minimalist wire frame construction. It uses a traditional "W" shaped saddle bridge meant to sit directly on the nose bridge and flexible cable temples that hook comfortably behind the ears.
Condition:
- Lenses: In excellent antique condition! Both original glass lenses are completely intact with no cracks, major chips, or fractures. Only very minor surface wear/faint hairline cleaning marks consistent with age.
- Frames: Solid and fully functional. The metal has developed a beautiful, authentic dark antique patina/tarnish that gives it wonderful historical character. The hinges are strong and the wire arms retain their shape and flexibility perfectly.
Included Case:
Accompanied by a classic period hard case. The case shows honest exterior wear and age but functions exactly as it should to keep the glasses safely protected.
Ideal for collectors, vintage optical archives, theatrical use, or historical re-enactments.
Shipping: Will be packed securely in a sturdy cardboard box with generous bubble wrap to ensure the intact lenses arrive safely. Please inspect the photos closely to judge the exact condition. Happy bidding!
