This is a most unusual, and truly lovely, pipe that I acquired brand-new back in the early 2000s.

It is a Bjarne, and it is marked in the shank of the bowl as such, together with 'Handmade in Denmark'. It measures roughly 27cms from end to end. The curious logo on the stem confirms its authenticity. In understand Bjarne pipes were handmade by Bjarne Nielsen until around the time I bought this one. Which, to me, suggests this one has to be amongst some of the last ever made.

I remember getting this out if its wrapper, putting a little bit of tobacco in as a gentle 'first burn', lighting it and thinking 'Gosh, this is a keeper' - it was gorgeous! Two or three more uses after that and I was hooked. And that, folks, is the sum total it was lit because I quit very shortly afterwards and so this lovely piece of smoking artwork has since sat as part of my collection. The barely-charred bowl and little-marked mouthpiece will testify to this.

According to my trusty kitchen scales it weighs in at a featherweight 66gms so, despite its 'churchwarden' size, is not going to tax the mouth muscles and teeth unduly. It is a delightful thing and now deserves a new home. I would suggest it is eminently collectable.

It comes complete with the dinky little purpose-made silver-coloured metal stand which, as the images show, is a perfect fit.

To any pipe aficionado this will flag as something special. Having owned it for many years I honestly have no idea of the current retail value but do believe my asking price its way below that. However I do, of course, accept that you will be the final judge in what you may be prepared to offer so please do feel free to give it a go.

Please note I am not a dealer so can offer no warranties, guarantees or returns. I will, however, be pleased to answer any questions prior to committing to purchase.
