While the only visible pickup from the outside is a lipstick-type magnetic pickup, a magnetic pickup is also built into the neck end, and a body sensor is installed inside under the bridge.
Five different tonal settings can be selected using the selector switch on the side of the body. The top features the familiar volume, treble, and bass controls found on the ES system.
This particular instrument was manufactured in 2011. It was produced via BTO (Build to Order), and is likely a custom order for a music store or dealer.
The spruce top and sapele back are standard features. Abalone purfling is used, giving it a sophisticated yet understated feel. The fretboard also features abalone design inlays.
