Vintage Bilston & Battersea / Halcyon Days Enamel "Happy Birthday" Trinket Box with Shipton & Co Presentation Box
This is a beautiful vintage English enamel trinket/pill box, hand-painted by the renowned Bilston & Battersea Enamels which I believe was  exclusively for Halcyon Days, during the 1980's and 1990's.The pill box has a Vibrant cobalt blue base with a copper-mounted enamel lid reading "Happy Birthday" over a traditional floral cornucopia (horn of plenty). The pill box features the authentic, classic circular  "Bilston England" maker's mark on the underside. Also included is a premium, dark navy blue ribbed Shipton & Co fine jewellery presentation box which the pill box was in when I sourced it from a larger collection of items. Shipton & Co may well have been the original retailer of this item, or it may just be a coincidence that the pill box sits perfectly into this box.
The pill box is in very good vintage condition. The hand-painted lid is bright, crisp, and clear. The hinge operates smoothly and closes securely. The base is also in very good condition. The Shipton Box is sturdy and in good  condition, clean interior, and only lightest signs of wear on the exterior commensurate with age. (Please study all uploaded photos carefully to judge the exact condition for yourself).

  • A few remote UK locations incur an additional charge from our courier and this will be passed on to the buyer before posting. If you think you may be affected, please ask us first, quoting your postcode.
  • For higher value items, we use a tracked service, for lower value ones, we use a standard service in order to keep down postage and packing charges to buyers.
  • Our responsibility for delivery ends at the point of posting your item. We ALWAYS obtain proof of postage.
  • In the event of an item not being delivered, we will ask the buyer to claim against the carrier and will supply proof of postage details to support your claim. Sorry, but we do NOT give refunds for items not delivered, where we have obtained proof of postage.

  • Where applicable, we post items overseas using the eBay Global Shipping Programme.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot combine postage for items sent using the Global Shipping Programme.
  • Please note that we do NOT ACCEPT RETURNS for items posted to addresses outside the UK.
