This is a vintage 1980s era IIAAA "Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association" lapel pin in the shape of the state of Indiana. However, this is a reverse image of what the pin is supposed to look like. This one has the initials "AAAII" and the shape of the state of Indiana is reversed from what it should be., which is referred to as a "reversed" or "mirrored" image. The symbol in the center features a gavel (mallet) crossed with a flaming torch, which is a traditional symbol used by the association. Please see photos.
