Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing.
This listing is for a Sterling by Music Man Ray34 4-string bass guitar designed as a direct descendant of the iconic StingRay. The instrument features an Ash body finished in white with a maple neck and rosewood or maple fingerboard, offering 21 frets. It employs a 34-inch scale length typical of long-scale basses. The neck is attached with a sturdy 6-bolt joint for enhanced stability.
The bass is equipped with a Music Man designed humbucking pickup featuring Alnico pole pieces paired with a 3-band active preamp allowing independent control over bass, mid, and treble frequencies. This setup delivers a powerful, thick tone with the versatility to emphasize bottom end, midrange presence, or sharp attack, suitable for slap, fingerstyle, or pick playing.
Additional features include a Music Man inspired bridge with stainless steel saddles allowing precise string height and intonation adjustments, open gear heavy-duty tuners, spoke wheel truss rod adjustment, and a nut width of 43mm (1.69 inches). The weight measures 4558 grams.
Cosmetic condition shows moderate signs of wear typical of a used instrument, including scratching and body side damage marked in photos, plus minor rust and tarnish on metal parts. The neck is mostly straight with about 80% fret life remaining, and the electronics function properly. The truss rod has not been adjusted recently so tension condition is unknown. Note that the strings are rusty and should be replaced. This guitar does not come with accessories such as gig bags. Please review all photographs carefully to assess condition and details.
