What it is

A Motorola RAZR V3i in the Dolce & Gabbana gold finish. The box label reads SM,V3i DG REFRESH,GB,GLD - the commercial DG Refresh rather than one of the numbered boutique units. UK retail stock, packed in the EU, box label dated 11 June 2006. The MOTOMANUAL inside is dated two days later.

How you can tell it is the right phone in the right box

Every Motorola box carries a label, and every handset carries another under the battery. On this one they agree on five separate things.

Both labels are photographed in full. The battery cover lifts off with a thumbnail, so you can check the chassis label the moment it arrives. The box label also carries an intact silver Motorola security hologram, 9CAYM0615, and the EAN 5025322326947. Firmware CFWG2057BA, FCC ID IHDT56EU1.

Condition, honestly

There is no wear on this phone. The gold anodising is unmarked, the keypad is crisp and both displays are clean.

What I will not claim is that it was never switched on. The battery has been taken out of its bag, the factory protective films have been removed, a SanDisk 64MB microSD card is fitted in the card slot, and the back is clearly off and on again. On the other hand the mains charger is still sealed in its factory bag, and so is the D&G cloth - which reads like somebody opened it, put a card in, had a look at it and never got as far as charging it.

There is light wear on the silver hinge trim and a little debris in the hinge gap, photographed close up. The box has no cellophane left on it. Other box wear is as seen in the photographs.

What you get

There is no headset. I do not know whether this pack was supplied with one. I am telling you it is not here rather than letting you find out.

The memory card is a SanDisk 64MB, in the Motorola-branded case with the Motorola SD adapter. I cannot tell you whether it is the card Motorola shipped with this phone or one added later, so I am not going to say it is either.

The battery

The battery is a BR50 of its own age and is included for completeness, not as a working battery. A cell that has sat for twenty years will not hold a charge, and I have not tried to charge it. It is flat, not swollen, and sits level on a flat surface.

Provenance

This came out of an old collection of mobile phones found in the house - put away when they were new and not touched since. I have photographed everything exactly as I found it.

Returns

I do not accept returns unless the item is not as described - which is why every identifier, every flaw and everything missing is set out above. Sold as described; the photographs are part of the description.
