Titanium Grade 1 is an unalloyed pure titanium with the material number 3.7025. The mass fraction of titanium in this grade is between approx. 99.6 and 99.8%. The material offers high ductility and good cold formability. Titanium made from this material has medium strength. However, it impresses with its high corrosion resistance, notched impact strength and good impact strength. This titanium is also characterized by its excellent biocompatibility. 3.7025 has a tendency to hydrogen embrittlement and for this reason the hydrogen content in the grade should not exceed 0.008%. Titanium 3.7025 can be welded very well and is not magnetic.
Titanium 3.7025 is primarily used for complex components with the lowest load capacity and an operating temperature of -253 °C to 150 °C. Other main areas of application for titanium are:
- Mechanical and apparatus engineering;
- plate heat exchanger;
- medical technology;
- Low temperature technology (various components);
- Deep-drawn parts for the chemical industry and offshore sector.
Titanium Grade 1 is characterized by the following features:
- high ductility;
- good cold formability and impact strength;
- medium firmness;
- high corrosion resistance and impact resistance;
- excellent biocompatibility;
- very easy to weld and not magnetic.
