60s2a is a high quality iron-silicon spring steel. The material designation 60s2a means:
- 60 - 0.60% carbon content;
- S2- approx. 2% silicon;
- A - Steel quality very high.
This quality is characterized by high strength and excellent elasticity. The material also has good impact strength and is corrosion-resistant. It does not tend to form flakes and is not suitable for welding. The material is insensitive to temper embrittlement.
