Description:

09g2s is an unalloyed low carbon structural steel. The material designation 09G2S means:

  • 09 - 0.09% carbon content;
  • G2 - max. 2% manganese content;
  • S - max. 1.0% silicon content.

The quality consists of approx. 96-97% iron as the main component and is characterized by an extremely low proportion of accompanying elements such as phosphorus, sulphur, nickel and vanadium.

09g2s GOST impresses with excellent weldability and excellent processing properties. The material can be machined perfectly. When subjected to heat treatment, it is almost not susceptible to deformation and cracking. The material has an optimal combination of strength, toughness and ductility. Furthermore, it shows very good wear and temperature resistance.

09g2s GOST can be used at temperatures from -70 ˚С to +425 ˚С. In this temperature range, it fully retains its original properties. The steel can be easily cold formed by deep drawing and stamping. The grade is forged between 850°С and 1250°С.

Allen is primarily used for fasteners in metal construction. Various fasteners are made from this steel. In addition, this type of steel is well established in construction. Other main areas of application of 09G2S GOST are:
