This large, somewhat heavy and quite beautiful Japanese wood creative kokeshi doll measures 10" high, and a whopping 11" in circumference around the middle.  She was made by arguably the most famous kokeshi doll maker in Japan - Okamoto Usaburo.  He has won many of the highest awards in Japan for his kokeshi doll creations, including the most prestigious Prime Ministers Award.  Her name is "Haru No Yume" which roughly translates to "Spring Dream".

This kokeshi doll is wearing a gorgeous pink kimono that is decorated with several white cherry blossom flowers.  She's also wearing a black obi with white daisy-like flowers.  She has an adorable face with wide-set eyes, framed by her traditional hair style.  The artist's signature and stamp are on the side of the doll, and his sticker is on the bottom.  Please see below for flaws.

This kokeshi doll is large and heavy and in very good vintage condition - hard to find many flaws - and she would make a great addition to your growing collection.  White areas are camera glare.   Please remember that this is a vintage doll that may have minor imperfections, such as dust/dirt/dings/scratches/scuffs/age spots.  And please note the size of the doll as the pictures may make it look larger than it actually is.
