Up for offer here is an antique, circa 1900, #448 relief molded stoneware German 1/2 liter handled beer stein, by Simon Gerz, from Westerwald, Germany. Cream or yellow ware ground with undergalze cobalt blue and brown. There is young male with castle in background and a proverb on this, Ein froher Trunk - Macht alte jung, which translates to A joyful drink makes the old young. Excellent antique pre-owned condition. Measures approximately 6" tall x 3.5" wide at base.
