Vintage Set 2 [Pair] BUDDHA PORTRAIT FACES Shadowbox Wall Art NEGATIVE SPACE Black/Gold
Each is the exact same size- 12" high x 9 1/8" wide x 3.25" deep
MAGNIFICENT and extremely unique molded sculptures using NEGATIVE SPACE. They are 'pushed in' indents of Buddha faces which - amazingly- look 3D and as if they are projecting OUTWARDS not INWARDS from every single angle. It is incredible. If you're standing to their left, they appear to be looking left. Standing to right, looking right, etc.
This is achieved by using many different levels of thickness with the molds- some areas of the faces are closer to the surface [shallow] and some are very deep down into the mold.
Although the molded faces match, and are gilded with gold metallic gilding, they each have VERY DIFFERENT application of rouge red. This rouge red color is applied in different places on each, giving them quite different looks and expressiveness.
One has rouge mainly on the cheeks, and one has rouge mainly down the top lip, nose, and across the eyelids
They are created with a very thick and heavy acrylic material which has been powder coated on all sides with a matte black color, forming a shadow-box frame. This matte black color is also used to define the faces.

Excellent condition to both pieces- one has a SMALL minor dark L shaped area along its right ear- super minor and a manufacturing blip, not damage- very difficult to notice- see last pic. Both pieces without any damage whatsoever- no scratches, chips, rubbed areas, fading, or repair. Pristine. As these are individually hand colored they vary slightly. See all pics & use zoom, all size measurements in description.
They can be hung on a wall [secure hanging hole in back] or they can also be set on a table or shelf- bases are flat and they are self-standing without support
