A Torres model, crafted from beautifully figured maple wood for world-renowned guitarist Alexis Vallejos, is now available as a used item!
Fabio Zontini
Born in Milan, Italy in 1971.
Graduated from the Milan Liuteria Conservatory in 1996, receiving a diploma as a stringed instrument maker and restorer.
Drawing significant inspiration from the works of historical masters such as Antonio de Torres, Hermann Hauser I, Pietro Gallinotti,
Francisco Simplício, and Luis Panormo,
he has crafted over 250 instruments to date.
In 2007, at the Barcelona Music Museum, Fabio Zontini conducted thorough research on the 1859 guitar by Miguel Llobet, which inspired Hauser I's Spanish guitar, and the 1862 "Papier-Mach?" guitar made of cardboard by Antonio de Torres, famous for demonstrating the importance of the soundboard. Over the years, he has produced numerous copies of these guitars.
Fabio Zontini is featured in the July 2025 issue (No. 742) of the magazine "Gendai Guitar" in an article titled "Papier-Maché: The Paper Guitar."
He has participated in and lectured at numerous domestic and international exhibitions, including music conservatories, music schools, museums, and important guitar festivals in Italy, Europe, and Central America.
In 2016, he participated in the creation of a unique Arcimborda guitar, made by 15 guitar makers, at the Rome Guitar Expo.
For over 20 years, he has lived in the tranquil countryside of Lignia, northwestern Italy,
creating his instruments in a home and workshop surrounded by olive trees.
This Torres model was crafted for Alexis Vallejos, a classical guitarist who won the Andres Segovia International Guitar Competition and performs worldwide. It features beautifully figured maple on the back and sides.
While there are some scratches and scuffs from playing, and some partial paint repairs, there are no functional issues.
The compact body is easy to hold, and you can enjoy its dignified and well-balanced sound.
A semi-hard case is included.
We strive to remove sold items from the site promptly,
but there may be a time lag.
We can also send you close-up images of each part and sample videos upon request.
We will adjust the string height to your preference when handing over the instrument. (Please note that some instruments may not be adjustable due to their nature.)
