Description
Set of 4 DSW side chairs designed by Charles Eames and made by Herman Miller in the late 50s/early 60s in Parchment, Elephant Grey, Kelly Green and Cream Parchment. Original fibreglass shells mounted on shockmounts with dowel bases.
The contemporary version of this chair (manufactured by Vitra) is made of polypropylene, which in our opinion, is not a patch on these original fibreglass models, which age beautifully.
These are grade B seconds with slight flaws to the shells so that they don't meet the grade of the high standard chairs we sell. Nonetheless, they are perfectly useable and sound and are priced accordingly. The bases are used.
Please see photos for specific details as to condition. Specifically:
Parchment: discoloured with some marks
Kelly Green: water mark on seat
Elephant Grey: faded (this chair is on wide mount shocks)
Cream Parchment: discoloured with some marks.
A stunning set of chairs - a totally classic, very collectable set.
