It holds his money (Sovereign holder section),

It holds his stamps to communicate with the far corners of the rapidly developing world (Stamp holder section),

and it holds his matches and striker to smoke at his gentleman's club!

The outer case is unpretentious, a plain design but feels good in the hand.

Hangs from one end via a large ringlet for a chain into the waistcoat pocket, but even the ringlet is silver and hallmarked - unpretentious this may be, but take nothing from it's quality - the match striker is at the opposite end of course for easy access.

The matches are inside, just lift the protruding lip and there they are.

You would expect a piece like this to be extensively hallmarked and so it is, inside the roof of the cover, and on the vesta ledge,

for Chester 1903 by Payton, Pepper & Sons Ltd.

Excellent 'snap' clean closure on the cover.

Then we have the main body section, opened via raising the protruding side lip.

Of course, the cover is hallmarked inside.

And hallmarked again on the sovereign coin cover arm.

(Excellent coin spring and stamp section).

Again, good strong 'snap' closure.

Measures approx 6cm x 3 x 1, (excluding the ringlet)

and weighs approx 50g.
