Description:
Vintage circa 1960s ceramic ashtray, believed to be San Marino pottery, featuring a wonderful stylised female portrait with floral decoration.
Finished in a striking deep ruby/red glaze with black, white, yellow and blue detailing. The graphic female figure and bold colour palette are characteristic of the Mid-Century ceramics produced in San Marino during the 1950s/60s.
Asymmetric moulded ashtray form with cigarette rest to one side.
Unmarked to the base, therefore I cannot attribute it to a particular San Marino pottery.
Good vintage condition overall with age-related surface wear and small areas of glaze loss/chipping around the outer edge, all photographed.
