In 2009, due to the global financial crisis, the U.S. Mint saw record-breaking demand for silver bullion. To keep up, they diverted all available silver blanks to bullion production and canceled the production of the Silver Eagles.
The pictured is a private release from the longest operating private mint in the US, the Osborne Mint (who also minted the cool Cracked Lincolns I have listed separately) to fill the "Missing Year" Silver Eagle.
Graded a perfect MS70 by PCGS, this round is in burnished condition and made from 1 oz of pure .999 silver.
