A single NBA trading card, shown front and back in a protective sleeve. The front carries a blue-toned action photograph of a basketball match, with a large blank white player silhouette cut into the centre of the scene in a shooting or dunking pose, arms raised and both hands on the ball. Behind the silhouette a defending player in a light jersey numbered 3 reaches upward, a second player in a jersey reading SIXERS 8 stands to the right, and a packed crowd fills the background. Along the foot of the card sits the Upper Deck logo with COLLECTOR'S CHOICE, a yellow and pink panel reading super ACTION STICK 'UMS, a blank white name box, and the text 76ERS guard/forward on a yellow band.

The reverse is bright yellow with a black header panel reading BASE CARD and the card number B20 at the top left. Italic text explains that the buyer has received one base card from the 30-base card insert set and gives instructions on how to match the Super Action Stick 'Ums stickers to the base cards by reading the clues, then peel and place the sticker to complete the scene. A small illustrated diagram at the left shows the card front layout with PLAYER PHOTO GOES HERE and PLAYER NAME GOES HERE markers. To the right, a panel headed STICK-'UMS CLUES describes a player named National College Basketball Player of the Year by Sports Illustrated after his sophomore season at North Carolina, who led all rookies in scoring at 19.2 points per game with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1995-96 and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. The foot of the card carries the NBA and Upper Deck logos, a circular hologram, and copyright lines reading ©1996 The Upper Deck Company, LLC and ©1996 NBA Properties, Inc., printed in the U.S.A.

Background
Collector's Choice was Upper Deck's entry-level, affordable basketball brand, aimed squarely at younger collectors and set-builders rather than the high-end hobby market. The Super Action Stick 'Ums were one of its signature gimmick inserts: a two-part idea in which a base card carries an action photograph with the star player cut out as a blank silhouette, and a separate peel-off sticker card carries the player himself. Match the right sticker to the right base card using the clues printed on the reverse, peel it, stick it down, and the scene is completed. Deliberately, the base card never names the player, so working out the identity from the clues was part of the fun.

This is base card B20 from the Series 2 base run, which was numbered B1 to B30 and issued in 1996-97 Collector's Choice Series 2 packs. The clues on the reverse point to Jerry Stackhouse, the Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward who came out of North Carolina as the third overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft and made an immediate impact, leading all rookies in scoring and earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honours. Stackhouse went on to a long NBA career and later moved into coaching, which keeps steady interest in his mid-1990s 76ers cardboard among Sixers collectors and 90s basketball fans.

Condition
Pre-owned in Very Good condition for its age. The card presents well for its age and has clearly been kept protected. The surface is clean and glossy with strong, bright colour on both the blue front and the yellow reverse, and the printing is sharp throughout. Corners and edges appear intact with no creasing, bends or soft spots visible in the photographs. Some light reflections and small marks visible across the front are on the protective sleeve rather than the card itself. As is normal for these cards, minor handling wear consistent with a card of this age cannot be ruled out under close inspection.

Please note this is the base card only. The matching Super Action Stick 'Ums sticker was issued as a separate card in the set and is not included here, so the silhouette remains blank as intended and unpeeled. Supplied loose in a protective sleeve. Please review all of the photographs closely, as they show the actual item you will receive and form part of this description.

Who it's for
Ideal for NBA and Philadelphia 76ers collectors, Jerry Stackhouse fans, 1990s basketball card enthusiasts, and anyone working on the 1996-97 Collector's Choice Super Action Stick 'Ums Series 2 base run. It also makes an inexpensive nostalgic gift for someone who collected in the mid-90s.

Estimated Date
1996, as printed. The reverse carries the copyright lines 1996 The Upper Deck Company, LLC and 1996 NBA Properties, Inc. The card belongs to the 1996-97 Collector's Choice Series 2 release, and the clues reference the 1995-96 NBA regular season as the player's rookie campaign, which fits a 1996 print date.
