Antique-Style Chinese Armorial Porcelain Plate – De Heere Coat of Arms – After the Qianlong Original

An attractive Chinese porcelain armorial plate decorated with the coat of arms of the Dutch De Heere family, faithfully inspired by the celebrated Chinese export porcelain service originally produced during the Qianlong period for the Dutch market.

The centre is dominated by an elaborate European heraldic achievement, featuring the De Heere arms beneath a plumed helmet and surrounded by extensive scrolling mantling in iron-red and gilt tones. The composition is completed by an elegant rococo-style ornamental flourish beneath the shield.

The original De Heere service is an important and well-documented example of 18th-century Chinese armorial export porcelain, commissioned for the Dutch market and associated with Huijbert Johan de Heere (1731–1777), who served with the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in Asia.

This particular plate is a later Chinese reproduction of the 18th-century Qianlong design, retaining the proportions, heraldic decoration and distinctive appearance of the original service. Later reproductions of this celebrated armorial pattern are known to have been produced in China.

Condition: Very good condition, with no chips, cracks or restorations. Minor surface and age-related wear may be present, as visible in the photographs.
