("Whither?"), the second lied from the cycle Die schöne Müllerin, composed in 1823 to Wilhelm Müller's poetry. The front chromolithograph, part of the "Emel"-Karten series (No. 11) published by Lyra Verlag (H. Molitor) of Leipzig and Vienna, captures the Romantic wanderer spirit perfectly, while the interior unfolds to reveal the complete printed melody and lyrics — "Ich hört' ein Bächlein rauschen wohl aus dem Felsen-quell…" — a rare music-score postcard that doubled as a pocket songsheet. The reverse bears a portrait vignette of Schubert himself in decorative blue ink, with advertising for the "Emel" Karten series and a handwritten name "Metzker" in the address panel. Published under Molitor's Liederkarte Nr. 11, these fold-open music cards were a charming Edwardian novelty, popular in German-speaking Europe around 1910–1918, and are today sought by both Schubert collectors and ephemera enthusiasts alike.
