We actually bought the Volvo just over 3 years ago, and have spent roughly £3000 putting things right on it in that time, including roughly £2500 within the 1st few months of owning it.
I forgot to add that the swirl flaps were replaced around 2 years ago, but the mechanic thinks the swirl flap motor now needs replacing, if you're able to carry out the work yourself without paying labour costs, you could potentially have a really cheap fix, and a tank that will keep chugging for another 100, 000 miles.
