This vintage White Border era postcard, copyrighted in 1942, features the famous Chimpanzee Circus at the St. Louis Zoo in Missouri. The black and white image depicts five performing chimpanzees dressed in costumes, mounted on ponies and lined up five abreast for their performance. The reverse describes the show as a 'unique Chimpanzee Circus' where the animals act as acrobatic clowns alongside ponies and dogs. A striking piece of mid-century zoological and circus history.

Buying more than one?

You can save on shipping by purchasing multiple items—I'll automatically combine shipping for anything bought at the same time. Add the cards you want to your cart and check out when you're ready.

For postcards priced over $20 (Buy It Now): I ship these first-class in a sturdy cardboard mailer, with the postcard protected in a hard plastic top loader.

For postcards under $20 and auction wins: These are shipped using eBay's standard envelope service (delivered by USPS), packed in a semi-rigid mailer. If you prefer upgraded protection with first-class shipping, please message me before completing your payment.

Important note about eBay standard envelope shipping: This option doesn't get scanned like regular packages, so tracking can sometimes be inaccurate. It may show as “delivered” once it reaches your local post office—even if it hasn't arrived at your door yet. Please be patient, and don't hesitate to contact me if you're concerned about delivery.

*To keep shipping costs reasonable for customers outside of the U.S., international orders do not include tracking*
